Abstract

The following question, posed by Roger Chartier, is an excellent starting point from which to begin a discussion of the motivations behind the Patagonian project, within the predominant ideological framework in force during its elaboration. It is in this context that we can detect the ideas of Enlightenment and the basis for modern society at work. © 2005 Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers, New York.
