Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) requires patients to comply with medical prescriptions during permanent and continuous monitoring and treatment in different disease stages. In this study, we address software requirements aiming to increase the compliance with medical prescriptions by designing a gamified architecture to generate applications (apps) according to the user’s profile. We evaluated the architecture applying interviews with healthcare professionals and a software developer following a scenario-based evaluation approach. In addition, we implemented a prototype using web technologies to increase confidence on the evaluation. We argue that the gamified architecture is useful to generate CKD apps that increase the compliance of patients with medical prescriptions.
