Tobacco use is first preventable cause of death in the world. Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) is one of the pharmacological treatment of nicotine addiction. NRT provides a reduction in nicotine withdrawal symptoms and an increase in tobacco cessation motivation. Various forms of NRTs (transdermal patches, gum, nasal spray, inhaler, sublingual tablets and lozenges) can be used in smoking cessation therapy. In our country, transdermal patch, gum and lozenge forms, it has been licensed by the Ministry of Health. Nicotine replacement therapies is well tolerated and side effects are rare.
