Abstract

Grid computing constitutes one of the most important computing paradigms appeared in the last decade. Data grids are grid system, whose main concern is the efficient and reliable management of data. These systems have had a growing interest due to the increasing number of applications using a huge amount of data, known as data-intensive applications. They present problems related to both grid systems and I/O systems. This paper describes MAPFS-Grid, a flexible and high-performance platform for data grid applications. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
