Abstract

The crack path of welded joints has been studied in different works. Hence, this work investigates the cracks location and propagation in spot weld area. The weld defects and design always play a significant role in fracture behavior of different joints. Therefore, the crack paths simulation and fracture predictions are presented for a single sheet spot welding. The stress intensity factor (SIF) has been calculated using Fracture Analysis Code (Franc2D). The crack path model has been validated. The accurate SIF solutions and crack path simulation have been shown.
