Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of low academic performance in engineering studies. The data collection is carried out from the databases of the University of A Coruña, corresponding to the students who have completed the degrees of Industrial Engineering. The objective is checking if this data is sufficient to perform an evaluation and analysis of the student academic performance, which allow to know the possible causes of the problem addressed. Once the analysis and evaluation of the data records has been carried out, it is found that they are insufficient, it is tried with the individual academic performance of each student. Therefore, it is decided to expand the data collection, which will consist in individually consulting of the academic record from each student. The aim is to obtain the attempts and marks obtained in each of the subjects, in order to be able to know the academic performance of the students.
