Abstract

We seek to unify two paradigms: that of microsimulations (used heavilyin the social sciences) and that of multi-agent systems (used heavilyin computer science and to an increasing extent also in the socialsicences). We illustrate teh attempted unification chiefly by meansof time geography, which can be seen as a third paradigmn. Here, the concept of space is explicitly modelled, which is not alwasythe case in the other two paradigms.
