Corrosion is a process of material damage due to chemical reactions with the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of immersion with NaCl solution on the rate of corrosion and hardness on variations of weld seam I, V and ½ V. There are two different treatments namely those carried out immersion and without immersion for 38 days. From the test results obtained the highest value of corrosion rate that is ½ V type seam with 0.098271 mm / y with immersion and 0.009905 mm / y without immersion. Whereas the highest hardness value is also produced by the type of seam ½ V that is equal to 65.0 HRB (HAZ), 74.0 HRB (base metal) with immersion, 69.6 HRB (HAZ), 79.0 HRB (base metal) without soaking.
