Abstract

Principles of Seismology is targeted for upper‐level undergraduate and beginning graduate students in seismology. It is quite good as an intermediate‐level theoretical seismology text, and it may also serve as a general reference book for seismologists. The author intended to make this book “student‐friendly,” and to a large degree he has accomplished this purpose. Compared to other recent seismology texts at a similar level, this text explains the fundamental aspects of theoretical seismology more thoroughly, and the traditional core topics are well presented.
