Abstract
We briefly summarize the career of Prof. Sami Erol Gelenbe who founded the ISCIS conference series, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, and on this 20th anniversary of the ISCIS conferences. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.
