Abstract

Mining is the first and foremost source of raw material that all countries find essential for increasing their economic standard. People working in the mining industries face severe health and safety issues like release of toxic gases, fire explosion etc. A safety suit is designed to protect the life of mine workers. The suit consists of various sensors sewn into it to monitor the health condition and environment temperature in mining. The sensors include temperature sensor, pressure sensor, heart sensor, gas sensor. The gas sensor detects the presence of toxic gases such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide and methane. The sensor signals are monitored and processed by Arduino ATMEGA 2560 controller and sent to base station by means of IoT. The development of early warning system, (indication/alert message) with the help of sensor data collected is sent to authorized person.
