Abstract

Properties of aqueous solutions of polyelectrolytes of natural origin (nuclei acids and polysaccharides, etc. ) and synthetically prepared (e. g. polyacrylic and polystyrene sulfonate, etc. ) are discussed. Qualitative phenomenological approach is made with the properties, such as radius of gyration, intrinsic viscosity, activity coefficient and changes in PK of solutions. Theoretical attempts at a more quantitative approach to the physical-chemical behavior of the aqueous solutions are also made with the help of simplified models.
