Abstract

Photocatalysts with advanced mechanism of action against microorganisms were identified and commercialized globally. Wastewater was produced in an increasing rate worldwide due to industrialization process. The wastewater was treated, photo-disinfected, and processed to reuse the water in industrial level. Nano-photocatalysts were immobilized and used in photo-disinfection process worldwide and was effective than conventional methods. The immobilized nano-photocatalysts are cost-effective and in turn reduces the difficulties in catalyst recovery after the treatment process. The mechanism of action of various disinfectants were explored and used in industrial scale.
