In this paper, the result of an intervention program to reduce the fear and improve the self-efficacy of college students of speaking in public is presented. The sample was composed of 158 students that participated as an experimental group and another 101 students as a control group. The results evaluated through the Self Efficacy Questionnaire to Speak in Public, demonstrate that the participants in the program improve in their self efficacy, especially those with lower punctuations, and that these results maintained themselves through a long period of time. The conclusion is that the intervention was efficient and equipped the students with more resources to take advantage of the factors that the academic context offers to develop the ability of speaking in public.
