Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) revolutionized the management of descending thoracic aortic pathologies. TEVAR has become an attractive alternative to open surgical repair in an aging population and allows surgeons to treat those who would otherwise be too high of medical risk. Since its introduction in the 1990s, several studies have demonstrated its efficacy in treating aneurysms, dissections, penetrating ulcers, and blunt aortic injuries.
