Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of IT technology convergence related to physical activity, and to present a prospect through it. The wearable smart market has recently been restructured into the smart watch market and the fitness tracker market. The fitness tracker is a representative terminal of the application of IT technology to increase the amount of physical activity. It has been released and researched in various forms such as watches, bands, clothing, glasses, and lenses, but until now, most products in the form of watches and bands have been released. In addition, Apple and Google, which are two major pillars of the mobile platform market, also provide health-related platforms for preoccupying the fitness business. The prospect of IT convergence to increase physical activity continues to grow, given the trend of fitness-related wearable devices becoming smaller and lighter. Sustainable growth and revitalization will require efforts to mash up fitness IT devices and various app services, ensure user convenience, and rationalize design elements and prices.
