Abstract

Although it is considered common knowledge that income differences are small in the Scandinavian and large in the Anglo-Saxon countries, this has not always been the case. Before the Luxembourg Income Study (LIS) was launched in the late 1970's, income differences could be easily disputed on methodological grounds. The LIS database is easy to use and readily available online for social policy researchers. Adapted from the source document.
