Luxembourg Income Study

Abstract

Although it is considered common knowledge that income differences are small in the Scandinavian and large in the Anglo-Saxon countries, this has not always been the case. Before the Luxembourg Income Study (LIS) was launched in the late 1970's, income differences could be easily disputed on methodological grounds.
