Abstract

In this paper, novel social group optimization algorithm (SGOA) is used to produce radiation pattern with sidelobe level (SLL) as low as those obtained using uniform distribution method with the corresponding beam-width (BW) as a constraint. The SGOA has a very simple structure in two phases. The technique does not have any complex math steps involved. The simulation-based experimentation is repeated for three different types of linear array sizes and the results in terms of SLL & BW are analysed.
