Abstract

The article discusses the Dysphagia Competency Verification Tool (DCVT) developed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Special Interest Group (SIG) 13 with the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (AB-SSD). Topics explored include the specialist-level skills listed by the DCVT, the use of the DCVT in determining readiness of speech-language pathologists (SLP), and the tracking of personal and professional development after establishing clinical competency.
