Abstract

Hydraulic and mechanical performance tests are undertaken on pumps. This chapter concentrates on testing the hydraulic performance of pumps. Tests, whether at a manufacturers test bed or during site commissioning, guarantee that pump efficiencies are maintained at economic levels and their reliability proven and monitored. This is most important given the increases in energy costs and the dependency of large plant on its components such as pumps. (P.J.B.)
