Magnetostriction of superconductor

Abstract

The results of many years magnetostriction study on different superconducting materials are summarized. Special attention is paid to the giant magnetostriction and its «superconducting background». The results are compared with the traditional components of magnetostriction in magnets. Perspectives of magnetostriction measurements and possibilities of their practical use for analysis of the mixed state of hard superconductors are considered.
