Abstract

In recent years ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) has become the method of choice for the diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring of arterial hypertension in pediatric as well as in adult patients. ABPM permits a more representative observation of blood pressure (BP) throughout day and night in a non-medical environment. Moreover, ABPM allows to quantify the circadian and even ultradian BP variability.
