Abstract

Chest physiotherapy comprises a group of manual procedures and techniques based on a correct interpretation of clinical findings that contribute to adequate management of respiratory diseases. Therapeutic intervention considers characteristics according to age to obtain an improved functional capacity. Selecting an appropriate therapy is mandatory to determine the physiopathological condition, its location and collaboration from patient. Chest physiotherapy can be classified as manual or instrumental. There are many devices to improve pulmonary hygiene that have been developed recently.
