Abstract

I am the Vice President Academic Affairs for Rasmussen College. The focus of my article is on curriculum standardization, which is a part of the way we operate at Rasmussen. To be able to explain what we do, it is necessary for me to first describe Rasmussen on some basic level. Curriculum standardization helps us to further our program of student learning assessment, which in turn helps us to continually improve both curriculum and instruction using the data we generate. But in order to understand how we operate within a standardized curriculum model, and the results it helps us to achieve with our students, it would seem to make sense for me to provide some basic information about both Rasmussen and the sector of higher education in which Rasmussen operates, which is the for-profit sector. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
