Sea-level fluctuations and climate change during the Holocene were important in the construction and evolution of sedimentary coastal landscapes. This variations can be evidenced by geological, biological and archaeological indicators. The present paper aims to investigate geological indicators of these variations in the basin of Una river, Lagos Fluminense region, Rio de Janeiro State. As methodological procedure drew up six stratigraphic profiles in different locations, involving sedimentological and faciological analysis, combined, at all stages of research, a systematic field control (monitoring). In laboratory developed up of sedimentary facies, tables containing attributes related to diagnosis, color, geometry, contact, sedimentary structures and fossil content. The age obtained by radiocarbon date14C range between 6330 a 4.800 cal yrs B.P. The results obtained suggest that the most representative depositional process was content mollusks shells.
