Abstract

Correct diagnosis is prerequisite to the treatment, prognosis and prevention of disease. Traditional Chinese Medicine theory provides a framework for assessing any particular manifestation of symptoms and signs, in which syndrome match is especially useful in analyzing clinical cases. Unfortunately, the two-value method cannot exactly represent the knowledge about syndrome differentiation in TCM diagnosis system. In this paper, we present a new method for syndrome differentiation in the Traditional Chinese Medical clinical analysis based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets, furthermore we point out the proper method for decision-making in the Traditional Chinese Medical diagnosis process via intuitionistic fuzzy cognitive match between syndromes. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
