Nurse’s Perception Toward Management Information System: A Systematic Literature Review

Abstract

Home care is one of the health services that offers an essential role in monitoring the health outcomes among elderly patients with chronic illnesses, especially during the pandemic. The inability to acquire healthcare services due to physical limitation, transportation availability, facility constraint, and domicile distance has generated home care standardization inequality. Fortunately, the rapid growth of information technology has led to some conspicuous answers to deliver comprehensive and sufficient care. However, most nursing management information systems (MIS) today are designed by experts outside of the nursing or medical field, such as information, technology, or computer science, which in turn, in such a way drives its poor adoption in healthcare practices. This systematic literature review aimed to analyze nurse’s perception regarding MIS use in hospitals and community services, employing a preferred reporting item for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) methodology. Findings yielded that nurses perceived the acceptance of this technology can be demanding due to various factors, such as technology readiness and the capability to sufficiently operate the systems.
