Abstract

In this paper we propose a new Teaching Learning Opposition Based Optimization (TLOBO) method for the location of median line in the Euclidean 3-D space. Optimization is carried out in such a way that, the sum of distances from the line to a given finite set of three-dimensional data points is minimized. The results obtained using TLOBO are compared with other state-of-are methods like TLBO and ABC which shows the superiority of TLOBO in finding median line problem. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
