Abstract

The aim of this work is to growth hepatocytes in three-dimensional tissue on PGA-PGLA structures modified with a thin surface of pyrrol with plasma glow discharge. We show the results of three-dimensional cultures in this material and the material polymerized by plasma glow and the sponges without modification. The material that we used was a sponge of PGA-PGLA (Poliglicolic Acid- Polilactic coglicolic Acid). To verify the correct operation and proliferation of the cellular culture, the morphologic evolution and the protein production were verified in the seeded cells. The Hoesch tinction was used to identify the cellular nucleus in the pictures of the seeded material using the confocal microscopy. The total protein production rate of the cells was indirectly measure using a chromatographic technique on the overflow culture. These experiments concluded that we obtained a three-dimensional functional cellular culture of hepatic cells on scaffolds covered with a thin film of polypyrrol. © 2013 Springer.
