DIFFUSION OF CHROMIUM, MANGANESE, AND NICKEL IN MOLTEN IRON.

Abstract

Coefficients of diffusion in iron at 1550 and 1600 C were determined for up to 5% of Cr, Mn, and Ni, respectively, by the diffusion couple method. An increase of diffusivity was observed with increasing standard free energy of solution.
