Abstract

The present AOAC method is unsuitable for cacao products, since the insect fragments which are present are usually lost on a 140-mesh sieve. The proposed method prescribes a 270-mesh sieve. Other changes involve the sample size, and the defatting, digestion, and trapping steps.
