Abstract

The increase in investigations linked to the level of digital competence of university professors is increasing, with the DigComp and DigCompEdu frameworks as the main reference models for diagnosing the state of development of their digital skills and define strategies for the improvement of digital competence in different areas. This study, which combines quantitative and qualitative methodology, seeks to analyze the level of digital teaching competence of university professors in content creation and to find out the variables that influence its development by investigating possible differences related to academic level, area of knowledge, degree, training in digital competence or the adjustment between perceived and real competence. The results show, on the one hand, some differences in the competence for content creation according to the area of knowledge; evidencing, in addition, the connection between the use of digital content and the didactic methodology used, and the relevance of a technological training for the creation of digital content.
