Abstract

The carpooling may be seen as an alternative transportation mode. It is based on common journey planning, so the costs may be reduced and so the traffic. In the consequence, it may have potentially a great positive impact on the environment (the less cars on roads the less pollution). The aim of this paper is to introduce a complete model for a common route planning for carpoolers. The problem is formulated as a multiobjective optimization task. The exact solution algorithm for finding Pareto-optimal solutions is given.
