Abstract

This chapter is designed to cover some of the common situations in which the nonurological surgeon might be required to perform surgery on the urinary tract. It focuses primarily on surgery involving the kidney, ureter, and bladder. The end of each section addresses injuries of each organ as a result of external trauma, including the evaluation and management. The last part of this chapter provides a brief overview of urological oncology. © 2008 Springer New York.
