Abstract

Buckminsler Fuller engaged in the diseipline of design.science - or in a longer form, comprehensive anticipatory design science. "Science" here refers to the process of finding generalized principles in nature by using the mind that humans have, and "design" refers to the process of applying generalized principles to inventing new artifacts to solve special cases. While the law of nature exists regardless of human intention, design is a human act of arranging components with an intention. For Fuller, these processes to find principles and apply them were continuous. According to him. "In comprehensive anticipatory design science, you are responsible for everything." This is what "comprehensive" means. Design science should also be "anticipatory." because design scientists should look to the future to solve humanity's problems on Earth.
