Abstract

This paper describes a biology game headed to biology students. The game was developed to be a learning tool supporting biology classrooms. The players need to have the basic knowledge of a living cell and the game context involves: the cell constitution, the transport mechanisms, the metabolic reactions, the protein biosynthesis, the growth and the cell division. The game enables the students to dynamically interact with the cell environment and learn the concepts involved in the official programme (guidelines) of biology studied in the two final years of high school in the Portuguese educational system. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
