Abstract

Chitinophagaceae is a family containing several genera, including Balneola, Filimonas, Flavisolibacter, Gracilimonas, Lacibacter, Niastella, Terrimonas, and the type genus Chitinophaga. Recently, a novel strain has been isolated representing a novel genus and species in the family Chitinophagaceae for which the name Asinibacterium lactis gen. nov., sp. nov. has been proposed. The genome of Chitinophaga pinensis has been completely analyzed.
