Abstract

The implementation of digital media in school teaching and learning processes is becoming increasingly important in the course of the transformation into an information and knowledge society. In order to promote the less pronounced use of digital media by teachers, numerous conditions have already been identified. However, the analysis of the interplay between computer usage frequency and other factors at the process level, such as the media-related teacher cooperation, which also represents a central predictor of the implementation of digital media, has not been considered. This research desideratum will be examined in the context of this article on the basis of a structural equation model based on a representative teacher survey (N = 1210). As a result, it can be seen that there is only a small significant correlation between the computer lesson frequency and the media-related cooperation of teachers. Furthermore, the self-assessment of media-related teacher competence proves to be a significant predictor of both factors.
