Wrist and Hand Pain

Abstract

In the present article, the authors wish to establish a practical guide for the clinical study of the pain in the hand and wrist. First of all, several useful rules for interrogation are remembered and then, different manifestations of pain depending on the tissue where it originates are discussed. After it they give a method to search for peripheral causes of pain around the hand and wrist. Finally different central causes of peripheral pain and recent changes in taxonomy of syndromes like reflex sympathetic distrophy are stated.
