Abstract

Developments in 2016 underscore the fast pace in which the US health care delivery system has transformed to better meet the needs of people with cancer. This transformation is built on three pillars: (1) new investments in science and insurance coverage, (2) new payment systems that emphasize quality, and (3) new sources of data and rapid-learning health care systems. In this fourth annual State of Cancer Care in America report, ASCO describes the opportunities and challenges that confront the cancer care community.
