Abstract

Belts, stars, 2D lattices, and elongated objects are formed by solution-based tip-to-tip or side-by-side self-assembly of single-tip Au-CdSe nanorods (see picture). Assembly was mediated by attraction between the Au or CdSe segments in selective solvents. © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
