Abstract

Attempts to identify those phenomena which do not appear to be characteristic of the entire history of the Earth during the last 3.8 Ga. The most profound changes identified involve the growth and stabilization of the continents, the evolution of an oxidizing atmosphere and diversification of life forms. In conclusion the admittedly subjective view of the group was that surprisingly little change can be documented during the last 80% of Earth history. - from Authors
