Abstract

The real estate market in Slovakia is characterised by a high share of properties inhabited by owners and almost not existing rental sector. Travelling for work is therefore complicated due to insufficient availability of rental housing, which has a subsequent impact on workforce mobility and competitiveness. This chapter aims to present the importance of housing companies, which create conditions for the development of sustainable rental housing from the environmental, economic as well as social view.
