Abstract

In this presentation, we will present the details underlying the design, development, and fabrication of a large-format high-resoluti on digital imaging detector for transmission electron microscopy (TEM). This system incorporates 4-high performance demagnification lenses to split the image from a self-supported scinti llator screen onto four 4k x 4k custom designed, large dynamic range CCD chips from a custom foundry run at Fairchild Imaging. The format of this detector is approximately 7.5k x 7.5k depending on sub-image overlap. The ultimate goal of this project is to replace film as the resolution standard for TEM.
