Abstract

Are many today alerts environmental deterioration that the planet manifested because of pollution, and some of these: the gradual disappearance of natural resources, increased pollution, the disappearance of ecosystems and habitats, among others. One aspect that contributes to the above is the improper handling of waste, which is a consequence of the absence of good recycling practices. This is due largely to ignorance on the part of citizens regarding the classification of organic and inorganic waste. One of the ways to promote good practices in the classification of waste from the area of technology, is through serious games. So, in this article the serious game called “Recycling” which pursues the objective of appropriation of good practices waste sorting playful way is proposed. In order to promote these good practices in children, the proposed game was validated with students of School Farming Chapel, Union headquarters. Likewise, at the level of usability, software prototype was applied to a heuristic evaluation around a specific set of game design principles. The evaluation included the participation of a group of teachers and students of the Faculty of Engineering, with experience in the design and implementation of video games, as well as the use of these heuristic principles.
