Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to present some examples of cases where asset decisions are required and to illustrate the financial and operational considerations involved. Outcomes After reading this chapter you will be aware of the application of discounted cash flow to repair or replace decisions and equipment acquisition decisions and the importance of taking operational factors into account in the overall decision-making process.
