Abstract

This article aimed to understand to what extent the dynamics of reflexive modernization contributed to a new movement contract to emerge in the leisure, sport, and Physical Education contexts in contemporaneity. Given this objective, the text was structured in three sections. In the first part, we discuss how reflexive modernization has impacted social relations in a macro-sociological context. We then discuss how and in what sense movement autobiographies were altered in late modernity. Finally, we introduce some bases for a human movement theory that has the potential to translate the new meanings attributed to leisure and sport in contemporary society
