In this chapter, we review prediction models for type 2 diabetes, starting with models without genetic information and moving on to models with increasing complexity in terms of incorporating genetic information. We discuss the strength of current prediction models and indicate how we might be able to improve diabetes prediction in the future. For a complementary discussion of prediction models in the context of obesity.
