Abstract

Metabolomics provides an invaluable means to interrogate the function of "orphan" enzymes, i.e., those whose endogenous substrates are not known. Here we describe a high-performance liquid chromatography- coupled mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS)-based metabolomics approach to identify an endogenous substrate of an orphan cytochrome P450. © Springer Science+Business Media New York 2013.
