This paper introduces the concept of community resilience and identifies distinctive characteristics compared to other perspectives on resilience. Besides a theoretical investigation of the concept’s potential, the paper provides empirical results from practical experiences with the integration of migrants in Germany and the processes of social networking aiming to facilitate daily life and communication among migrants and between migrants and people in the host country as well as recommendations for professionals to support the networking process.
